Write for us

We welcome pitches that take one screen detail seriously without pretending it explains everything. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough context for us to judge the idea and its fit.

What we welcome

Pitch original criticism about believable screen worlds: settings, character habits, props, costume, visual texture or the gap between a film's intended effect and what appears on screen. A focused piece about one choice is stronger than a broad survey of a genre.

What makes a strong pitch

Name the film or clearly defined group of works, identify the choice you want to examine and explain the central point in a few sentences. Tell us what a reader will notice differently afterward. Keep evidence distinct from interpretation, and do not promise access, private information or first-hand testing.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send a proposal. Include a working title, short outline and a note about any relevant conflicts or previously published version. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication.

Our point of view

Believability is a choice, not a special effect

A convincing film world is made from decisions that fit together. We look at what those choices achieve, where they strain credibility and why the difference matters to a viewer.
