Stellar Film Journal

Editorial policy

Stellar Film Journal aims for clear, fair film criticism grounded in what readers can see in the work. We separate observation from interpretation and make room for uncertainty when a detail can support more than one reading.

Accuracy and context

We check names, titles and factual statements against reliable material where available, and avoid presenting a reading of a scene as an established fact. If an interpretation is debatable, we say so. We do not invent production details, quotations or access to people and materials.

Independence and partner material

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material we accept is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial coverage. A placement does not guarantee favourable treatment or a particular conclusion.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the relevant article and the specific point. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making the change clear where the correction affects a reader's understanding.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be AI-generated. When an illustration could be mistaken for a real film still, person or production image, we identify it as an illustration rather than documentary evidence.

Our point of view

Believability is a choice, not a special effect

A convincing film world is made from decisions that fit together. We look at what those choices achieve, where they strain credibility and why the difference matters to a viewer.
